Knits to New Adventures: My Finished Ranunculus, Summer Knitting Plan, and a Surprise Twist

There’s something about seasonal transitions that just calls for a flip flop in the knitting plans—and this past week has been full of just that! In today’s catch-up, I’m sharing a finished project, some exciting ideas for the community, a peek into what’s next (spoiler: it’s not just knitting), and a little mother-daughter visit that turned into something unexpectedly yummy (despite being all vegetables lol).
Thinking About a Community Discord

First up, let’s talk about connection. I’ve been thinking about starting a Discord server as a more casual space for knitters to gather for our regular make-alongs and updates.
It would be a space for chatting about patterns, yarn choices, sharing WIPs, and hosting virtual knit nights or future KALs.
Would you join? What would you want to see in it? I’d love to hear your feedback before I dive in.
Finished Project: My Ranunculus Sweater

I'm excited to finally share my finished Ranunculus ssweater. This is that sort of secret pattern I'd been It’s such a well-loved pattern in the community, and I can see why. If you haven't made one and want to, be sure to follow along for another Ranunculus Knit A Long. They seem to be pretrt popular and for good reason. It really is a joy to knit—and even more fun to wear. I made a few personal adjustments after making THREE in the past, this might be my favorite yet.
Encouragement for Beginner Knitters

It is really important, in my opinion, to learn to read your stitches. We had some great conversations about taking notes ON the actual pattern, jotting down any modifications so that you can duplicate evenly on both sides.
Ifyou're a newer knitter, don’t be afraid to slow down, write yourself notes, and make modifications that work for your body and your style. It’s your project—own it!
A TikTok Trend + A Sewing Machine Surprise

While my mom was visiting, we got a little caught up in the Tiffany plate trend from TikTok. It was a bonding moment for sure plating all kinds of veggies and fruits and enjoying the interesting flavor profiles in every bite; but the real surprise? She gifted me a sewing machine before she left.
So yes… sewing content is officially on the way.
It won’t replace knitting, but I’m really looking forward to expanding my creative toolbox and sharing that journey with you here too.
Summertime Knits: Two New Projects
And of course, I’m already dreaming about what to cast on next. I have two summertime projects in mind:
1. A simple home knit, dish cloth or towel — Purl Soho has a couple of great easy repeat ones.
2. A sleeveless tank—lightweight, wearable, and just enough structure to feel like a wardrobe staple.
Let me know which one you’d like to see first!
