Cold Weather Knit A Long

Updated: Nov 15, 2024

So here are the colder dark days of fall and winter. While the crispy leaves and chill of the daytime is my favorite part of fall...I absolutely hate the early dark nights.

One thing that's made winter a little more bearable is the idea of knitting slowly but dedicatedly on a blanket.

Isn't there just something bonding about cold weather and knitting? They're like sweet potato pie and apple cinnamon scented brooms.

So this year I thought how cozy would a winter knitalong be. However, instead of a blanket which is very lengthy, a wrap. The Half and Half Triangles Wrap by Purl Soho.

It's one of those knits that you don't understand the hype of until you make your first one (cue the ranunculus nay sayers)

Since it's ONLY knit stiches, it's fairly mindless. There is one short row every two rows but that's all.

So if you want to join a live knitting group session, click the RSVP button on the homepage and claim your spot.

The Wrap is the focused project, but if you want to just knit with people on your own blanket, you are more than welcome to do so.

Do you have a go to winter project? What's your favorite blanket pattern (crochet ones are great too)?

Also, as we are working on this project, feel free to join the conversation by commenting below...See you soon!!!

I hope you are ready to start making something cozy. If you hate the 5om darkness, but love knitting by the warm lights of lamps in your knitting space then this is the place for you.

I tried making a decision on what yarns to use from stash and while cleaning I found MORE Pallette yarn (shamed) so I'll be doing one solid side and 1 striped side to finish off those colors.

I also, wouldn't hold me to it because I am definitely the "Change your mind at the last possible second" kind of person.
